Five for Fighting Brings Emotion and Beautiful Arrangements to the Stage with a String Quartet

A recent magical show at The Vogel in Red Bank, brought laughter and storytelling which then gave way to gorgeous piano-driven songs, enriched by a live string quartet.

Opening the night was Lace and Lee, whose sound brought a great start to the evening. They set the tone with their own style and gave the crowd a chance to settle into a night centered around the music. They had a mix of laughter and storytelling that made you want to become their best friends. Their performance was flawless.

When Five for Fighting took the stage, the addition of a string quartet brought another layer to the performance. The combination of piano, vocals, and strings gave the songs a different feel, creating moments that were both powerful and intimate. It was the kind of performance that reminds you how much emotion can live inside a song, especially when you get to experience it outside of a recording.

John Ondrasik has a way of connecting with an audience through his songwriting, and hearing these songs performed alongside a string quartet made that connection even more special. The arrangements were absolutely stunning.

It was a night that put the focus where it belongs: on the music, the musicians, and the stories behind the songs.

From the opening set by Lace and Lee to the beautiful combination of Five for Fighting and the strings, it was a reminder that sometimes the most memorable live performances aren’t about how loud a show gets, but how deeply the music stays with you.

I’ve always been the person with a camera in hand, finding joy in capturing the moments that become lasting memories. My love for photography grew alongside my passion for music, and eventually those two worlds came together through concert photography. There’s nothing like capturing the energy of a live performance and preserving those once-in-a-lifetime moments for artists and fans alike.
