Set It Off Ignites The Fillmore in Philadelphia

Set It Off brought their “The Deathless Tour” to a packed house at The Fillmore in Philly last week. The band opened with the hit single “Parasite” which immediately had the audience crowd surfing into the caring hands of the security team.

The trio complement each other extremely well on stage. With lead singer Cody Carson stomping the stage with infectious energy, his fervent vocals, and charismatic presence commanded the room. His ability to evoke emotion and engage with the audience is unmatched, especially when he hovered over the crowd on an air mattress.

And his bandmates matched the intensity. Shirtless drummer, Max Danzinger pounded away with incredible intensity and Zach Dewall pumped out heavy hitting bass lines. Each one played with precision and passion to the high energy atmosphere that pulsated through the venue.

My name is Steve Cerf and concert photography is my passion. I got into concert photography after seeing a young Freddy Mercury mesmerize his audience at the Philadelphia Civic Center back in 1977. Since then, I have photographed countless live performances of all kinds. Located in Philadelphia, my ability to experience the show and a performer’s essence and “sweat” is what I incorporate into my images.
