Streetlight Manifesto Brings Their Long Summer Night Back to Asbury Park

Streetlight Manifesto took over the Stone Pony Summer Stage as they brought their Place Behind the Stars Tour to the Jersey Shore. The band’s annual Long Summer Night kicked off an epic weekend of music at the legendary venue to close out this year’s Prudential North to Shore Festival. The unusually cool weather did not dampen the band’s enthusiasm as the homefield crowd was ready to jump, mosh, and surf as soon as they hit the stage.

After a solid opening set by Prince Daddy & The Hyena, New Jersey’s favorite ska band kicked things off with the live debut of “Enormous”. The night’s setlist included their two other new songs "Imagine This" and "Everything to Everyone", as well as some of their classics like "A Better Place, a Better Time", "The Hands That Thieve", “Keasbey NIghts” and "Somewhere in the Between". They even threw in some covers of Catch 22 and Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution songs.

While I have been listening to Streetlight Manifesto for quite some time now, this was my first Long Summer Night. It was such a fun show. The crowd’s energy was infectious and the surfing rivaled that of Stoked for the Summer. This is definitely a concert you want to add to your must-see list.

Place Behind the Stars is scheduled to release later this year, but you can listen to the three new songs now on their YouTube channel. And be sure to see them when this year’s tour stops near you. Until then be sure to check out all of Streetlight Manifesto’s work wherever you stream your music.
