Whitney Returns to Asbury Park and Makes Their Stone Pony Debut!
Indie folk rock band Whitney are no strangers to the Asbury Park music scene having played shows at iconic venues such as House of Independents and Asbury Lanes on previous tours. However, despite their many visits to the Jersey Shore, they had yet to grace the famed Stone Pony…until now. Unsurprisingly the band settled right in and made the venue feel like home as they delivered an engaging, laid-back, and sincere set that showcased their distinct musicianship and passionate connection with their loyal fanbase.
Touring for their upcoming release, Small Talk, the band managed to integrate their new material into their set very effectively while also performing some of their fan favorites. Singer and drummer Julien Ehrlich demonstrated his natural musicianship while engaging seamlessly with the audience. And the full band setup brought the songs to life in vibrant fashion. While their style is admittedly on the mellower side, that didn’t stop Whitney from locking in and bringing plenty of energy to their set, creating an organic connection with the crowd in the process.
Having been a band for quite some time now, Whitney seem to have a fully realized handle on their sound and this latest tour may very well be their most satisfying yet. Their set brought plenty of artistry, and the energy was vibrant and engaging throughout! For fans new and old, Whitney’s current tour comes recommended. Be sure to keep an eye out for their upcoming album Small Talk which is set to release November 5 via AWAL records.
