Dave Matthews Band Brings Its Summer Tour to New Jersey

Dave Matthews Band brought its 2025 Summer Tour to Holmdel, NJ this week. The weather was perfect, PNC Bank Arts Center was packed, and the band gave everyone an amazing night of music. It was your typical DMB show with a nearly three-hour unique set that spanned their entire catalog. Dave and the guys clearly were enjoying themselves, soaking in every bit of the crowd’s energy. They even covered Cameo’s “Word Up” and David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”. The band was also joined onstage by Jason Crosby for the first time ever, playing the fiddle for two of their classics, “Pig” and “Ants Marching”. This was the third time I have seen the band in concert, and they have yet to disappoint.

DMB fans are known for being a dedicated bunch, and the Jersey crowd was no exception. They sang with Dave all night long, but for me it was when the band performed “Crush” that it became something special. It seemed like everyone around me was passionately singing along (including the venue staff) and I couldn’t help but get caught up in it as well.

There are plenty of chances to catch DMB this summer before their traditional residency at The Gorge Amphitheatre for Labor Day Weekend. Already got tickets? Well then, be sure to prep for the show by listening to Where Are You Going: The Singles (released earlier this year) wherever you stream your music.

Two of those shots ended up being published in Photofantasm Soundgarden: Nudedragons to King Animal, and he has been bringing his cameras to shows ever since. He relocated to Asbury in 2019 for its rich music and art scenes...and to save on tolls! He is a big supporter of the local music scene and has become well known amongst the bands for his photos.
