Joe Bonamassa Ignites NJPAC With a Night of Blues-Rock Fire
On Sunday June 28, 2026, the heat wave in NJ was not just outside. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark NJ hosted one of today’s hottest guitarists anywhere in the world ~ Joe Bonamassa. The performance was another standout moment of the North to Shore Festival, adding yet another major night of live music to this year’s celebration across New Jersey.
In 2026, he achieved his historic 30th No. 1 album on the Billboard Blues Chart with B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100, a landmark 32-song tribute honoring one of his earliest mentors. Produced alongside Josh Smith in collaboration with the B.B. King Estate, the critically acclaimed album features a remarkable cross-generational lineup including Buddy Guy, Slash, Keb’ Mo’, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Paul Rodgers, Chaka Khan, Eric Clapton, Gary Clark Jr., and many others.
Tonight the house was packed from floor to ceiling of this beautiful and renown center for stage and music performances. His blues-rock guitar skills are unsurpassed and was my pleasure to cover his performance.
