Erik Mason Band Brings Full-Band Power to Asbury Lanes

Erik Mason Band

Erik Mason Band Live at Asbury Lanes

After seeing Erik Mason perform an acoustic set in the APV studio, hearing him and his full band at Asbury Lanes was an entirely different experience.

From the start, the band moved with the kind of chemistry that only comes from musicians who truly know how to listen to one another. Every instrument had its place, weaving in and out of the songs effortlessly while leaving room for each player’s individual feel. The result was a polished, well-crafted sound that felt both tight and natural.

Mason’s voice was a standout throughout the set: deep, resonant, and thick with a country-tinged edge that fits comfortably within the coastal soft rock sound that is his calling card. Mixing originals with carefully chosen covers, the band delivered every song with confidence and purpose.

Just as noticeable was how much the band seemed to be enjoying every moment on stage. Each musician was smiling throughout the performance, and that genuine sense of joy was infectious—it was clear they were not simply going through the motions, but truly having fun playing the music together.

The audience was fully locked in from beginning to end. During the set, there was a noticeable high level of attention in the room—nobody seemed interested in leaving their spot or missing what was happening onstage.

Mason’s 2025 EP, Butterfly Effects, is filled with beautifully written songs, including favorites “Blind Side,” “Have It All,” and “Forgotten Man.” His most recent release, “Old Soul (Live at Asbury Lanes, Asbury Park, NJ, July 2025),” captures the spirit of a previous performance in the same room and gives listeners another reason to spend time with his catalog.

The Erik Mason Band did more than play a great set at Asbury Lanes; they made it clear that this is a group worth catching at full volume.
