North to Shore Brings Low Cut Connie to Atlantic City
North to Shore’s newest concert series, Garden State Live!, kicked off Friday night, August 8th, at the Hard Rock Hotel in Atlantic City with performances by Low Cut Connie and Isn’t It Always. The series brings focus to South and Central Jersey’s music scene, and from the moment the lights went up it was clear the night would deliver. Having seen both bands before, I knew we were in for something special.
Isn’t It Always? opened with a short but high energy set, bringing infectious pop rock vibes to the stage. With songs like “Origami” and “Damn Good” they quickly won over the crowd. Chants for “one more song” broke out, and the trio happily obliged, giving fans one more track before stepping aside for the headliner.
Low Cut Connie closed the night with their trademark mix of showmanship and connection. Frontman Adam Weiner has a gift for engaging an audience, stepping off the stage to dance with fans, sharing hugs and handshakes, and making sure everyone feels like part of the show. This was my third time seeing them in the past two years, and even with a rotating lineup of members, they never miss a beat. Every performance is pure energy, authenticity, and fun.
Garden State Live! returns next month with Billy Walton, Twisted Livin’, and Debra Devi, and will keep going through at least December, shining a spotlight on New Jersey’s rich music scene.
Low Cut Connie will be back in the area on August 31st in Asbury Park with Dogs in a Pile. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it. And don’t forget to check out Isn’t It Always?, who released their excellent EP Paper Thin earlier this year.
