Three Bands, One Crowd, One Unforgettable Summer Night

ASBURY PARK, N.J. - At first glance, Streetlight Manifesto, The Aquabats and A Wilhelm Scream don't look like a lineup that naturally belongs together. By the end of The Long Summer Night 2026 at the Stone Pony Summer Stage as a part of the North 2 Shore Festival , it was hard to imagine it any other way.

By the time Streetlight Manifesto took the stage, the crowd was ready. The New Brunswick ska-punk veterans delivered the horn-driven sound and relentless energy that have made them one of New Jersey's most beloved live bands. From the opening notes through the encore of "Here's to Life," the Summer Stage became one giant singalong while the mosh pits rarely let up, a fitting welcome home for a band whose roots run deep in the Garden State.

Earlier in the evening, The Aquabats transformed the stage into a colorful mix of concert and comic book. Dressed in their signature superhero uniforms, the band mixed infectious pop-punk with nonstop antics that included beach balls, inflatable props and perhaps the night's most unexpected moment: young fans crowd surfing across the audience on inflatable pizza slices. It would have been easy to dismiss the performance as all spectacle, but that would have missed just how good the band actually was. Their music connected just as much as the visual chaos surrounding it.

Opening the night, A Wilhelm Scream wasted no time setting the tone. Their blistering melodic hardcore set exploded from the first song, with relentless energy from frontman Nuno Pereira matched by the rest of the band. Circle pits, crowd surfers and a sea of raised fists appeared almost instantly, taking the audience from zero to full throttle in a matter of seconds.

Some concert lineups are built around bands that sound alike. This one worked because they didn't, and the Stone Pony crowd embraced every minute of it.
