Bleachers have always carried a little bit of New Jersey with them, but their latest release brings that connection right back to Asbury Park.

Following the release of their fifth studio album, everyone for ten minutes, the Jack Antonoff-fronted band returned to Antonoff’s home state for a free, celebratory show at the legendary Stone Pony. The performance was filmed by YouTube, and the newly released concert video, Bleachers – Live at the Stone Pony, captures the band in exactly the kind of setting that makes them feel larger than life and close to home at the same time.

The Stone Pony show featured new songs from everyone for ten minutes, including “you and forever” and “sideways,” alongside fan favorites like “Rollercoaster” and “Margaret,” the band’s collaboration with Lana Del Rey. For Asbury Park, it was more than just another big-name show. It was a New Jersey bandleader bringing a major moment back to one of the state’s most important music rooms.

Bleachers’ new album leans into the band’s longtime love of big-hearted, full-band energy, touching on marriage, grief, growing older, generational tension, and the strange cultural moment we’re all living through. Musically, it moves from harmony-rich rock to pop-soul and sax-driven Jersey sound — the kind of mix that has helped Bleachers build a devoted following over the past decade.

The concert film arrives as Bleachers’ Bleachers Forever tour gets underway, with major North American dates including Philadelphia, Boston, and Madison Square Garden in New York City on June 23. And for Asbury Park fans, the connection continues later this summer when Jack Antonoff’s Shadow of the City Festival returns to the Stone Pony Summer Stage on August 28, featuring Bleachers, Real Estate, Toadies, Grace Ives, and Bike Routes.

For a band built on community, catharsis, and the joy of making a room feel like one big chorus, Live at the Stone Pony feels like the right kind of homecoming — loud, sweaty, heartfelt, and unmistakably Jersey.
