Malcolm Todd Showcases Real Star Power at Sold Out Starland Ballroom Show

Rising talent is an exciting prospect to witness, especially in this era of the music industry. For singer-songwriter Malcolm Todd it’s been quite a busy year and change—releasing his debut studio album has embarking on the Wholesome Rockstar tour. There was quite a bit of anticipation surrounding both the album and tour, and Todd lands those expectations especially when it came to his sold out Starland Ballroom show. The set was full of unbridled energy and showcased his massive charisma which was utterly exhilarating to watch. As a performer, Todd’s stage presence was self aware and sincere. He and his band were more than ready to leave it all on the stage, and the results were electric and his eager fanbase matched that energy beat for beat.

The momentum of this tour moved at a breakneck pace and his setlist was a seamless mixture of previously established and recent favorites such as “Mr. Incorrect, “4Me4Me”, “Bleed”, and “Walk to Class”. The mix of both older songs from mixtapes such as “Demos Before Prom” and “Sweet Boy” and the recently released self-titled album made for a dynamic mix and his inclusion of some well timed acoustic numbers made a strong case for his songwriting chops. What truly made the night a triumph is Todd’s endearing sincerity and organic connection to his incredibly loyal fanbase. While still relatively early into his career, his starpower is very much evident and it’ll no doubt be exciting to see where he progresses from here. To paraphrase one of his own songs, he’ll no doubt have people to cheer him on.
