Memphis May Fire Heats Up the House!
Memphis May Fire brought their We Want Your Misery tour to House Of Independents in Asbury Park, NJ, on September 7th. They brought along special guests, Catch Your Breath and Another Day Dawns. House Of Independents is one of my favorite venues because it’s small and gives a chill vibe.
Another Day Dawns came from Pennsylvania and opened up the show. They were very impressive for an opening band and blew the crowd away. The band released a new single, Hesitate, over the summer, along with a music video. The song is about the struggle with relationships and working through them. They have a new album coming out on October 6th called Finding Peace Through All The Noise. They recently finished a tour with Breaking Benjamin and Bush, which was a massive opportunity for them. The band has been together since 2010 and captivates their fans at every tour stop.
Catch Your Breath came from Texas, and I was so happy to watch them play again. I first found the band at Capulet Fest in Connecticut over the summer and have been listening ever since. They released a song called 21 Gun Salute that I have been unable to get out of my head since listening to it. They do an excellent job of mixing their sound with a new generation of rock. Their music is very relatable for their fans and easy to sing along to. This was apparent at the House Of Independents as the crowd sang to every song. The lead singer pours his emotions into the songs, and it’s very apparent while watching.
Everyone patiently waited for Memphis May Fire to take the stage. Once they did, the fans went absolutely crazy. They played old and new songs, which is always great, especially for fans like me who have listened to them since the beginning. They brought additional lighting, making their set different from any I had seen at this venue. They also brought along multiple cyro fog canons placed on stage and went off throughout their entire set.
Memphis May Fire is a band that has been around since my teenage years, and I knew once the tour was announced that I couldn’t miss it. Even though I just saw them a couple of months ago at Capulet Fest, I also made sure to be there for this show. They put on such a great show I would go multiple times if I could. Matty Mullins’ voice is unique and can not be replicated. He could be seen smiling or belting out lyrics passionately with the fans. I also like that Matty grabs his fans' hands and sings along with them. I was thrilled with the openers they chose for this tour. Make sure you check it out before it ends on September 26th!
