Kamenar Set to Join Pop Evil at The Stone Pony After Years of Grinding It Out
I first saw Kamenar years ago at a festival in Atlantic City—and honestly, it told me everything I needed to know about them.
Kamenar
Pop Evil
They had driven all the way up from Florida for the gig, only for the festival to fall behind schedule. Mid-set, their sound was cut. Most bands would’ve packed it in. Kamenar didn’t. Even as they were being told to get off the stage, they pushed back and kept playing—no speakers, no mics—determined to finish what they started, and the crowd went wild for it. It was one of those rare, no-BS moments that sticks with you. These guys weren’t just playing music. They meant it.
That same band is now hitting the road this spring alongside multi-platinum rock act Pop Evil—one of the most established names in modern hard rock—on a 21-date run that brings them to The Stone Pony in Asbury Park on April 2nd. Click for tickets.
For Kamenar, the opportunity carries weight. Pop Evil isn’t just the headliner—they’re an influence. The band even recorded a cover of “Ways to Get High” years before this tour became a reality.
Hailing from Tampa, twin brothers Sean and John Kamenar have built their reputation the hard way—touring relentlessly and turning heads with a two-piece setup that sounds anything but small. Sean handles vocals, guitar, and bass simultaneously, while John drives the rhythm with a punch that feels closer to a full band.
They’re coming off a recent run with Dinosaur Pile-Up and have spent years sharing stages with artists across the rock spectrum, steadily building a following through consistency and high-energy live shows. APV caught Kamenar and DPU at Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar and Philly’s The Foundry just last month and they won a ton of new fans during that tour!
This tour with Pop Evil marks one of their biggest opportunities yet—and if their past is any indication, they’re not about to waste it.
